Some really fab ideas thank you for sharing, we try to pack light because we found that the easiest way to travel, not having too many things with us. Alot of the times you really end up using half of what you actually take.

Great advice! Packing light isn’t a skill of mine and I don’t even have children. I can’t imagine how difficult it might be to try and pack light when you’re also packing for young children.

These are great tips – we are going abroad for the first time in YEARS, next year and I am so excited! But I am terrible at packing lightly even though I use packing cubes and roll clothes – I always just think ‘what if I need….’ and end up taking too many similar things that don’t get used! xx

Great tips. We tend to holiday just in the UK, but don’t have the biggest of car boots so I have become a bit of an artist when it comes to packing light! I have found that if you roll items and then secure them with elastic bands, you can make items of clothing even smaller!

Great post! I have my first baby on the way in January and our first family holiday in September to Cornwall for two weeks, so packing light is going to be the key to a more comfortable car journey haha!

I leave any heavy bits for carryon luggage, so I don’t go over the weight limit. It is quite a good idea to make sure your children wear their heaviest clothes.
