In reply to Annabel. Thank you for commenting :-) glad it was of help. We have taken our bed guard a number of times. If we don't spare pillows or towels rolled up under the bed sheet also works well.

Useful advice! Just planning a trip to Sicily and I hunk my toddler will be in a bed by then so good to hear about the bed guard you can pack in your suitcase.
