Hi Norman. It isn't too bad, although I haven't cycled it for a good few years now. I use to cycle the route a lot as a child. If you get the boat and cycle back then you do have some short steep hills to get up but you can just get off and push. If you go from the pier then it is like a gradual climb but not steep at all. Then a couple of short steep climbs again. I suppose it depends on your fitness levels and what you are used too.

Hi. I was looking to do this ride with my 6 year old son, ideally getting the boat and then cycling back, or alternatively just cycling from the pier end and seeing how far we can get before wanting to turn around. However, I've since seen a profile of the route and it looks surprisingly hilly. How did you find that aspect of it? (If you remember - aware I'm commenting on quite an old post!). Many thanks

Bike trailers come in handy. We have one ourselves but as we had the dogs we couldnt fit it in the car.

Yes, we love going as it means we can bring along the dogs. Its a shame to leave them at home when they can be out with us!

I love places like this, where the whole family can get together and have fun outdoors. Even better that it's so accessible. I have memories of family bike rides when I was young and I can't wait to do it with my son-even if our scenery is not quite so beautiful as yours! Thank you for sharing with us at #AdventureCalling

This looks like a great place to cycle and/or walk. It's great that you can hire the bike trailers - we've been looking into getting one ourselves. Love the video too. Thanks for joining us on #adventurecalling, I hope you can again tomorrow.

We absolutely love family cycling like this. And it's great that you were able to split into hiking and biking groups to make sure that all members of the family (including the dogs) had a great day out. Never been to Loch Katrine; it looks great! Greetings from Luxembourg #AdventureCalling
