Thank you for your comment. Yes missing naps can cause tantrums here too. Our youngest still needs one nap but if there is a lot going on he will try keep himself awake and it can cause him to be very grumpy and teary. Yes totally agree with taking them into account.

My daughter famously (in my family) had a meltdown in the Kremlin, Moscow. No nap, you see. Always a danger, is missing the nap. We plied her with sweets, didn't make her do the churches and by the time we got to the ice creams, she was happy again. I do agree the trick is not to give up on doing things, but you do have to take the small people into account.

Thank you for your comment. Yes naps and down time work well for our boys. Trying to fit so much into a short space of time can make our boys very cranky. X

Brilliant post, some really good tips for avoiding tantrums. You're right though, they happen anywhere so they shouldn't stop us from doing anything. Naps are the key for us too. Thanks so much for linking up to #familytraveltips.

Great tips Sam. I completely agree, several breaks ( (usually involving ice-cream) help us and them and lots of snacks are definitely a must! Thanks for linking to #familytraveltips. Pinned, tweeted, FB and flipped!
