Travel To Austria With Kids

From the UK: There are a number of airports in Austria, which means you will more than likely find an airport to fly into. Vienna, Linz, Innsbruck and Salzburg to name a few. If you go to the Austrian airport website you need to fly into and check for the airlines that fly into the airport, you will then find the nearest UK airport to yourself.

Car: Renting a car can be done from all airports (from our knowledge) and also in some bigger cities. If taking your own car from the UK then remember to check what the local laws are and make sure your car has been serviced. Remember they drive on the right in Austria.

Public Transport: When we were in Austria we didn’t use public transport as we explored on foot and used our rental car. However, the train website is – OBB, and is easy to use. You can search for the journey you wish to do, which will then show you the times all the trains go.

Taxis: Taxis can be found outside airports and in the major cities (waiting outside train stations etc) You can also phone for taxis locally. Just ask your hotel reception for details (they may even phone on your behalf)
