Family travel in Germany can be a real treat. Many of the cities have a choice of places to visit that are interesting for kids like zoos etc. Most places to eat will accommodate children and many will have high chairs available for you to use. If you are used to taking your own travel seat for use in restaurants there is no harm in you taking it with you.

If you look below you will find all my blog articles from the places in Germany I have visited with my children with lots of information on places we visited while away.

Travel To Germany

From the UK: You will find many airlines will fly from a number of destinations in the UK to Germany. Frankfurt and Munich seem to be the most popular airports that are used.

Travelling in Germany

Car: Renting a car can be done from all airports (from our knowledge) and also in some bigger cities. If taking your own car from the UK then remember to check what the local laws are and make sure your car has been serviced. Remember they drive on the right in Germany.

Public Transport: When we were in Germany we didn’t use public transport as we explored on foot and used our rental car. However, the train website is – Bahn, and is easy to use. You can search for the journey you wish to do, which will then show you the times all the trains go.

Taxis: Taxis can be found in most places. The best thing to do is to go to a taxi rank (airport, train station, bus station etc) and find a taxi. If none are about most of the time they have a phone nearby which you can use to call a taxi.
